The SVJ is the ultimate expression of the Aventador.
The record-breaking Lamborghini Aventador SVJ (Superveloce ‘Jota’) is ready for your enjoyment, having made its world debut at Pebble Beach 2018 to celebrate Lamborghini’s founding year of 1963.
As an evolution of the Aventador SV and with performance to drool over, the Aventador SVJ successfully set a new Nurburgring production-car record of 6:44.97 minutes, largely thanks to an increase in output 770 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque, a lower dry weight of just 3,362 pounds, and active aerodynamic elements that increase downforce by 40 percent front and back.
Engineers also managed to improve the Italian supercar’s drag coefficient by 1 percent with active flaps in the front splitter, a redesigned rear wing, and a tri-dimensional air outlet on the hood that can redirect airflow to maximize downforce or minimize drag to improve cornering performance without sacrificing straight-line speed.
With power channeled to all four wheels, the Aventador SVJ can launch from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in a mere 2.8 seconds, which is fast enough to qualify for the exclusive 2-second club.
Only 900 examples of the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ will be built, each with a price tag of nearly $518,000 in the US market.
