As it turns, there is no such thing as a straight woman, with a new study finding that your mother and sister are either bisexual or gay. Are you surprised?
Conducted by the University of Essex, the study involved 345 self-described straight women who were shown a variety of clips of men and women with sexual overtones. Researchers recorded their response, including the dilation of their pupils.
When the subjects were analysed, it was discovered that despite their stated sexual orientation, every single one of them demonstrated positive signs of attraction to their test mates.
Adding to that, women who described themselves as lesbians were showed virtually no attraction to men but very strong attraction to other women.
Lead researcher Dr. Gerulf Rieger from the University’s Department of Psychology concluded:
“Even though the majority of women identify as straight, our research clearly demonstrates that when it comes to what turns them on, they are either bisexual or gay, but never straight.”
With regards to gender roles in homosexual relationships, we added:
“Although some lesbians were more masculine in their sexual arousal, and others were more masculine in their behaviours, there was no indication that these were the same women.
This shows us that how women appear in public does not mean that we know anything about their sexual role preferences.”
As interesting as these results are, it’s not an endorsement for men to go off peeking into the windows of sororities.
