What would you do if your current girlfriend and ex-girlfriend jumped into a freezing river just to see who you would save first? You might think that’s a ridiculous question, but one unlucky guy actually had to make that tricky choice.
Wu Hsia, 21, broke up with long-term girlfriend Jun Tang, 20, after meeting new lover 22-year-old Rong Tsao, but the transition didn’t go as smoothly as he hoped. Jun kept hassling him to get back with her for months.
He explained to Chinese officials:
“I was sick of being nagged from both sides. Rong was moaning about Jun and Jun was moaning about her and it all got too much.”
When he arranged a meeting with the two girls to put an end their constant bickering, the situation went from bad to worse. They threw themselves into a river just to see which one he loved most, with a police spokesman stating:
“The girls began arguing and the man’s ex-girlfriend felt insulted by a comment made by the new girlfriend, and so she jumped into the river calling for her former lover to save her.
The new girlfriend, fearing that he might indeed jump in to save his ex-lover, then jumped in as well and both of them began calling for him to rescue them from drowning.”
As for whom he saved, Wu jumped in after his current girlfriend and took her to a hospital, where she was released shortly after without any major injuries. On his way home, he called his brother and told him to go to the river and rescue the ex.
So, what would you have done in this situation? Frankly, both girls have crazy written all over them (see this), and I don’t know if I would want anything to do with either of them after that whole ordeal.
