GM wasn’t joking when it said the new Corvette C8 would have a starting price of under $60,000.

With its new mid-engine configuration and sleek supercar design, the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray offers unprecedented performance at a starting price of just $59,995 in the United States, including destination and handling charges.

It’s not an exaggeration to say the C8 Corvette is the only brand-new mid-engine supercar most men can afford, and no other performance cars offers as much value for the price. Consider it a performance bargain of the century.

2020 Corvette 1LT Features

For the low price of $59,995, you get a generously-equipped C8 Corvette Stingray with the 1LT package, which comes standard with the following:

Exterior

  • LED headlights
  • A body-colored removable roof panel
  • Dual Power Remote Heated Sport Mirrors
  • Staggered wheels (19-inch front, 20 rear)
  • Michelin Pilot all-season tires

Interior

  • A 12-inch all-digital instrument panel and an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen
  • A leather-wrapped power-adjustable steering wheel, and leather upholstery
  • Eight-way power seats (the GT1 version) with Mulan leather
  • Keyless access with push-button start
  • Dual-zone automatic climate control
  • OnStar(one month trial) with emergency communications and 4G LTE Wi-Fi

  • Two USB ports, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite, HD radio, and Bluetooth
  • A Teen Driver Mode
  • Proximity entry and push-button start
  • HD rearview parking camera and Rear parking Assist
  • Driver mode selector (Tour, Sport, Track, Weather, MyMode, Z Mode)

Mechanical

  • A 6.2 liter LT2 V8 that produces 490 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque
  • An 8-speed dual-clutch transmission
  • A mechanical limited-slip differential
  • A dry-sump oil lubrication system
  • Disc brakes with Brembo four-piston two-piece front calipers and four-piston monoblock rear calipers
  • Traction control with active handling and launch control

Integrated navigation and an on-board performance data and video recorder are optional.

2020 Corvette 2LT Features

The 2LT package starts at $67,295 and offers everything the 1LT has to offer, including the optional extras:

  • Heated steering wheel (the first Corvette to have one)
  • Full-color head-up display
  • Heated and ventilated “GT1” seats with power-adjustable bolsters and lumbar
  • Performance Data Recorder
  • Wireless smartphone charging
  • 14-speaker Bose audio upgrade
  • Navigation with traffic
  • Rear Camera Mirror with auto-dimming
  • A front parking camera
  • Power-folding mirrors (driver’s side auto-dimming)
  • Blind-spot and rear cross-traffic warning
  • Driver memory settings
  • Cargo nets to secure items in the trunk and frunk
  • Advanced Theft security system
  • Universal Home Remote
  • Sirius XM Radio with one-year subscription

2020 Corvette 3LT Features

The top-trim Corvette 3LT price starts at $71,945 and is mostly a cosmetic upgrade over the 2LT. It makes the interior fancier with leather and “sueded microfiber” covering most interior surfaces:

  • GT2 sport seats upgrade with Napa and Mulan leather seating surfaces and carbon fiber trim
  • Custom leather-wrapped interior
  • Suede-wrapped upper interior trim
  • Leather-wrapped door panels

Z51 Performance Package Features

Available on all three trims (1LT, 2LT, and 3LT), the Z51 Performance package costs $5,000 — the same as on the C7 Corvette — and adds:

  • Magnetically controlled suspension
  • Performance traction management
  • A performance exhaust that increases engine output by 5 horsepower
  • Performance suspension with manually-adjustable threaded spring seats
  • An electronic limited-slip differential
  • A rear spoiler
  • Front splitter
  • Bigger front and rear brakes with the Z51 logo
  • Michelin-Pilot Sport 4S summer-only performance tires
  • A different axle ratio
  • A heavy-duty cooling system

In other words, adding the Z51 package to the entry-level 2020 Corvette 1LT gets you a car that cost less than $65,000 and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in under 3 seconds. Can you say that about any other mid-engine supercar?

Other Optional Features

Aside from the Z51 package, other options available on every trim include various exterior trim choices, two-tone interiors, contrast seat belt colors, different wheels, transparent or carbon fiber roof panels (you can also get both), different engine covers, Competition sport seats, and a sueded microfiber-wrapped steering wheel (the 2LT and 3LT can have the material on other interior surfaces).

The performance exhaust system can be purchased separately from the Z51 package for $1,195, and the front suspension lift system is available on 2LT and 3LT trims for $1,495
